The newly renovated Murinjapalam bridge whose work was completed within the allotted deadline in a record time span of 200 days was inaugurated by Hon.Chief minister Oommen Chandy here on Monday. CM said that the manner in which the construction of bridge complied with the deadline should be a model to all other ongoing projects. "This is so inspiring. It shows that if projects get completed by the deadline, people will be patient enough to bear the inconvenience," CM said.
The new bridge is 14 metres wide and it includes carriageway and footpaths on either side. The bridge was completed at a cost of about Rs four crores. It was completed as part of the ongoing city road improvement project. PWD minister sri.V K Ibrahim Kunju, health minister Sri.V S Sivakumar, Mayor K Chandrika, K Muraleedhran MLA, officials of the Kerala road fund board and Thiruvananthapuram road development company limited (TRDCL), the implementing agency of CRIP were also present on the occasion. |
